I've been a fan of the Connection series from the beginning and enjoyed the return of prior characters but I was thrilled to finally get inside Xander's head. From the beginning we knew Xander had a story to tell and Kim did another fantastic job of giving us another beautiful love story.
I really enjoyed getting to know Xander and LOVED that this story was mostly told from his point of view. When we met Xander in Connected he was not very nice to Dahlia and I wondered what his deal was. Xander had to get over prior mistakes and now that Ivy is back into his life he needs to make mends with her. Xander broke Ivy's heart but once they see each other again, they realize how their hearts never really moved on but the trust has been broken. This was a beautiful story of high school sweethearts reconnecting.
Kim always tells such beautiful stories and really knows how to throw in the element of surprise. There was a major twist in this story that I never saw coming which brought on the drama, heartbreak and emotions. As always, I love how music always plays a big part in Kim's stories and listened to her playlist while reading.
If you are a fan of the Connections series, then this a must read. I fell in love with Xander and know you will too. I can't wait for the next installments in this series.
