I’m Rhett. I’m cocky because I can be. I’ve got it all: the looks, the money, the endurance. I’m the guy that every girl wants to be with, yet none of them have ever been able to tie me down. I don’t do love. I don’t do relationships. And I sure as hell will never do marriage. I’m all about the fast life and everything that entails. There’s a different woman in my bed every week. My friends are jealous of me. My enemies envy me. Everyone wants my life. And everything in my life is absolutely perfect. At least, that's what everyone thinks. Everything changed the day, Clementine O'Hara told me she was moving away. She’s my best friend. She was my first kiss in grade school. We share everything with each other. She's the only girl I haven't tried anything with because she's off-limits to me and my friends. Only, suddenly I'm seeing her in a different light. I’m Rhett and I don’t let anything get me down. Then one night changed everything and everything I thought I knew was called into question. All of a sudden, being Rhett didn’t mean so much anymore. All of a sudden my friendship with Clementine was in jeopardy and I wasn't sure what I was going to do.

 TEASER:

Nate saw the fight in me the second I walked through the basement patio door. He put the video controller aside and cursed, raking his hand through his hair. “You’re going to cause a problem tonight, aren’t you?” There were four other people sitting on the couches and chairs in the room. I didn’t recognize any of them, but at Nate’s words they all looked at me. I said to them, “Who are you people?” “They’re friends. Their parents are friends with my parents.” Nate pointed to a guy. “That’s Nick.” A lanky guy, wearing a polo and trendy jeans nodded to me. “Yo.” Nate continued, pointing to the girl next to him. “That’s Maria.” “Hi.” She gave me a nervous smile. Brushing some of her blonde hair back, she moved away from Nick’s hand and her eyes grew more welcoming. He frowned at her, then it turned into scowl as he turned to me. I shot him a warning look. I wasn’t going to take any crap from him. At that, it went back to a frown, but there was still heat in his eyes. He could be a problem later. Nate kept on with the introductions. He gestured to the opposite couch where a girl sat. She had black hair and could’ve been a model. He said, “That’s Wren and the guy next to her is Wayne. They’re twins.” The guy said hello, but I ignored him and lingered on Wren. Her lips pressed together in a smug smirk, and she adjusted her legs, opening them for a second before she swung them back underneath her bottom. She wore a shirt that looked like a corset with a black bra underneath. Her breasts were full and I imagined cupping them later. They’d be a good handful. When my gaze snapped up to hers, the invitation was there and I nodded. If I didn’t get thrown out of the party or arrested, I knew what I’d be doing later. I gave the other guy a nod and headed for the bar in the basement. “Did you guys start drinking?” Nate followed me. He hopped on a bar stool when I went behind the counter and poured rum into a glass. As he watched me, he said, “Yeah, but we were waiting for you to start doing shots.” The others got up and stood around the bar. I skimmed them again and grunted. Nate’s parents were rich movie directors. That meant they had rich friends, who had rich kids, and since Nate’s parents directed major motion pictures, I knew the who’s-who were upstairs. I was a rich kid. I was aware of this, but I wasn’t an entitled prick like these four were. And the people upstairs were worse. Even now, glancing towards the ceiling, I could list the people up there. I finished mixing my drink and asked Nate, “Is my dad up there?” He tensed and shook his head. “No.” “Is he?” “Come on, Mason. Don’t do this.” I flashed him a hard grin. He was up there. “Is there food up there? I think I’m hungry.” “Mason. Seriously. Don’t.” Nick frowned. “What’s going on?” Maria and Wren shared a look, both smiling at each other. Wayne frowned at them, then at me, and swung to Nate. “What’s going on?” I slammed my drink back and started for the stairs. “Mason.” Nate got in front of me and tried to block me from the stairs. “Think about this. This is my parents’ house.” I stopped and flashed him a heated look. “Move, Monson.” He shook his head. “My parents already don’t like you. They threatened me the last time we got into trouble. They want to move from Fallen Crest and take me with them.” A voice in the back of my head was telling me to listen to him. He was my best friend. He was always at my side. He did whatever I needed and he took a lot of crap because of it. The other part of me wasn’t a voice. It was the need to pummel someone. The voice got silenced and a calm came over me. I needed to do this. “My dad is up there.” Nate was holding his hands up to me, but they lowered. An air of acceptance came over him and he said, “I know he is.” “You know who else is up there?” My voice grew rough, hardening. My jaw clenched and I lowered my head, as if I was going to charge right through him. He nodded. “I do.” “I’m going up there, Nate. I’m sorry, but I am. All his colleagues are up there. All those women he’s slept with. He keeps them around. He works with them. He introduces them to his friends. They’re all in the same social circle.” He gazed at me, studying me. I let him see me. I let him see the gnawing ache inside of me. It had been there forever. I couldn’t remember a time it wasn’t, and the person who put it there was with his friends. My dad was doing his thing. He was acting like he was perfect. He was pretending that he had never hurt anyone and he was getting away with it. “Nate,” I softened my tone, “I have to make him hurt. Just a little bit.” “He’s outside on the patio.” Then he stepped aside, and I didn’t wait for another second. I charged the stairs.

Changing Forever by Lisa DeJong

Happy Release Day Changing Forever! To celebrate, we have an excerpt chain to share with you! We are the THIRD stop in the chain, so be sure to check the schedule below to continue the excerpt.

Title: Changing Forever (Rain 2, can be read as a stand alone)
Author: Lisa De Jong
Age Group: NA
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Cover Designer: Mae I Design

Blurb:
I’ve always let my past dictate my future, letting it paint a picture of exactly what I don’t want to be. Where I don’t want to end up.

Drake Chambers is as arrogant as I am stubborn. A college quarterback, a national star. I thought he was just another one of those guys … the type every girl should stay away from, but he’s carrying more than the weight of the football team on his shoulders.

He unravels the feelings and beliefs I’ve held onto for so long.

I thought we had it all figured out. Two people who’d finally found their happily ever after, but the past always has a way of sneaking into the present.

With one decision, everything changes … forever.

EXCERPT

I don’t date because I don’t have time. I can count the number of girls I’ve had sex with on one hand. I always make sure I end things before they go too far emotionally. There’s just way too much going on in my life with football, a part-time job, and family drama to add a relationship into the mix.

When I hear some of the other guys on the team talk about their conquests, I feel like a saint. One of my wide receivers has a different girl every weekend, literally. I’ve seen him get in too many situations where last weekend’s girl bumps into him while he’s with his latest. He hasn’t quite figured out how easily some of these girls get attached, and I’m waiting for it to come back and bite him in the ass.
After walking almost the whole way up the center aisle, I start to doubt my plan. The pickings are slim, and if I can’t find someone, I won’t have any choice other than to drop this class and try again next semester. I don’t have time to deal with this shit right now.
“Hey,” I hear a soft, sweet voice say from behind me. When I don’t turn around right away, she continues, a little unsure this time. “Umm, excuse me.”
Glancing over my shoulder, I get my first look at her. She’s definitely cute … in a sweet, innocent sort of way with her long, chocolate brown hair and large brown eyes. I bet those eyes have gotten her out of trouble a time or two. She also happens to be the same girl who ran into me while I was tossing around the ball with the guys Saturday. The one who can catch a ball and throw a perfect spiral. She didn’t seem to know who I was then … or she didn’t care.
“Can I help you?” I ask, turning myself the rest of the way around.
Her eyes widen with her own realization as she tucks a piece of her hair behind her ear, allowing me to focus on the contrast between her creamy skin and dark locks. I don’t stop there, lowering my gaze to her long, bare legs. I noticed them right away the other day, and I thank God she chose cutoff shorts again today.
“I was wondering if you have a partner yet. I was reading through the syllabus, and I guess everyone else got a head start.”
A grin spreads across my face as I look up to her hooded eyes. “So you’re the only person left in this class who doesn’t have someone to work with?”
She scans the room, clearing her throat. “I think we’re the only two left.”

Fall to You by Lexi Ryan

New Adult Contemporary Romance

About This Book

Fall to You is the second book in the Here and Now series. It is not a stand-alone and is intended to be read following Lost in Me. Hanna’s story concludes in book three, All for This.

Torn between two men…

When I woke up after the accident, I couldn’t remember anything from the last year—including my relationship with Max Hallowell or anything about Nate Crane. Now my memories are returning, but instead of answering my questions, they’re leaving me with more.

The man who broke my heart and wants to be my future…

Max is all I ever wanted, and now he wants to marry me. He’ll do everything he can to fill my life with love, family, and security. I need those things now more than ever. But can I trust him?

The man who stole my heart and wants to let me go…

Nate never made me promises, and I never asked him to. I’d been on the rebound, looking for a distraction, and he made me feel beautiful and wanted when I needed to feel those things most. He says he has to let me go, but what if I can’t let go of him?

With every revelation and every passing day, I feel more like Alice down the rabbit hole. I’m falling. Who will catch me?

Christine Says:

After finishing book one, Lost in Me, I couldn't wait for this book and Lexi sure did not disappoint.  This story had me trying to figure it all out however it left me with even more questions and theories of where this story will go. This should not be read as a standalone, you MUST read book one.

I will keep away from any spoilers especially if you haven't read book one...
This love triangle story is not like any other I have read and I just LOVE it! I seriously thought I knew what was going to happen or at least I thought so. I loved how this story was told with the past and present and then we got  Nate, Max and Hannah's point of view. At times Hannah drove me a little crazy with her back and forth feelings between Nate and Max.

I can't wait for the next book. I give this book 4 bookmarks. Hurry up, Lexi, I need book three NOW! :)

About the Author

Once a college English professor, I now write full time. I live in rural Indiana, where, when I'm not writing, I get to hang out with my husband and two kids--a six-year-old boy and a two-year-old hellion, er, girl. Not surprisingly, reading and writing remain my favorite activities, though both come in bits and pieces these days, not the big hunks of time I enjoyed before I had children. When I'm feeling virtuous, I like to go running (I use that word liberally. I'm really, really slow) or do yoga. Don't worry, I'm always careful to balance out such activities with a hearty serving of ice cream or a chocolate martini.

Gage Thomas (G.T.) Gavelson fell in love with his Angel when he was just a pint sized kid. Both beautiful and smart, he always felt she deserved so much better than him. MaRanda's Opinion

Have I ever mentioned that I love Hot Biker Books? Well, this one was no different. I'm usually on the fence about reading the second and third book of a series b/c I'm always afraid it wont hold a light to the first book. But, let me tell you, HOLY SHIT! This book was smoking.
Casey and GT have always loved each other...I guess taking the step from friends to more than friends was scary.
I needed a cold shower after reading this book.

I can't wait until the next book in the series is released, I will not even hesitate to read it.

YOU MUST READ RAVAGE ME before reading this book.

Beloved by Corinne Michaels Spotlight Tour & Giveaway

Synopsis

Not enough.

Catherine Pope has never been enough. Every man she has ever loved abandoned her—from her father to her fiancĂ©. She finally accepted the fact she would never be enough to hold any man’s heart and soul.

Then Catherine met Jackson Cole.

When her world literally collided with the sexy former Navy SEAL, everything she always believed is turned upside down and left scattered. He made her feel alive and desirable, consumed her with fierceness and loyalty—which completely unnerved her. Jackson got her in a way no one ever had, giving him the power to destroy her.

If she breaks down and gives him what’s left of her battered heart—will he protect it? Or will Catherine become an irrelevant part of yet another man’s life?

Will she get the one thing that has always evaded her – to finally be someone’s beloved?

Christine Says:

Catherine has never thought she was enough so when she meets Jackson its a bit of a struggle for her to let him in. Her douche of fiance and her father have made her doubt her self worth. That's until one day she falls into the lap of a VERY sexy ex-Navy Seal, Jackson Cole. Catherine unfortunately is guarding her heart so will she ever really let Jackson in?

I really enjoyed this story and the flow was great. I found myself laughing so many times. I love Catherine's friends. I seriously want to throat punch her douche of an ex-finance, Neil.
My heart broke for Catherine with her struggle of not feeling she is worthy of a mans love since two important men in her life have abandoned her. Jackson tries to help Catherine see her worth but she fights it so darn hard which wants me to shake her up a little.

I have to come out and say that I absolutely LOVE that one of my favorite movies was referenced. Seriously, Empire Records has to be one of the best moves ever! lol I loved all the banter between Catherine and Jackson. And, again her friends were beyond the best! Jackson is perfect although he is fighting his own demons, he is just the man that she needs to let in. I can't wait for the rest of Catherine and Jackson's story!

I give it 4 bookmarks!

Excerpt

Jackson takes a step closer to me, stalking me like I’m his prey as I counter with another step back. Once my back hits the car door … that’s it. He has me pinned and we both know it. He raises his arms, placing them on the frame of the car and caging me in.
His lips brush against my ear when he whispers, “Oh, but your body says otherwise.” His body closes in on mine and the last remaining space between us disappears. Heat floods my core, my face, my body—my lids flutter closed and I take a shaky breath. “Open your eyes, Catherine.”

Dawn's 3.5 Bookmark Review

This book follows Dexter "Sin" Black and Faye. Faye catches her boyfriend, Eric,  sleeping with her friend and in an act of revenge sleeps with her childhood crush Dexter who just happens to be Eric's brother.  This storyline seems like a good one so I dove into the book ready to discover how this was going to go down. Only I struggled in some places.

The writing was good. It kept my attention and I thought the first chapter where Dex finds Faye at the hotel was good. If the whole book would have stayed like that I would have given this a higher rating. Here is where I started having issues.

One:  This book had so much good potential. I really thought the author could have pulled this off in a brilliant success but unfortunately it turned predictable. When you can guess whats going to happen the book quickly becomes forgettable.

Two: There wasn't enough backstory. We learn that Faye has crushed on Dexter the entire time she dated Eric but there was no flashback for us to see this. No way for us to want her to be with Dexter because we knew it was what she wanted the entire time.

Three: This story felt rushed at the ending. I would have liked more about how Faye was settling into her life and how her Dexter and Clover were going to make it work. It just seemed like the ending ran out of steam.

With that being said, as mentioned, this book had good bones. I loved the secondary characters and there were parts that had me chuckling. It was an easy read.
